With reference to our letter of 26th ulto. re the detention

at Canton of 11 chests Indian opium destined for the Klangai Province,

we have now bee.. informed by the parties concerned that the opium

in question has been allowed to be forwarded to its destination.

All the other opium previously seized, however, has not yet

been released.
